Kokrajhar Teacher along other 4 selected for National Award for Teachers 2020

GUWAHATI: Five teachers from northeast India have been selected for the prestigious ‘National Award to Teachers 2020’ by the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development.

The selected teachers are:

-Goutam Dev Sarma, Teacher of Govt. H.S. and M.P. School in Kokrajhar, Assam 

-Archana Gurung, Principal of Govt. Senior Secondary School Jorethang, Sikkim

-Lomas Dhungel, Mathematics Graduate Teacher from Makha Senior Secondary School, Sikkim

-Rahul Sankar Chatterjee, Lecturer of Shillong Jail Road Boys Higher Secondary School, Meghalaya

-Sanjay Das, Teacher at Tilabazar HS School, Tripura

A total of 153 teachers were shortlisted for this award, amongst which 45 were selected by the jury, and 2 more were selected from the special category.

Consultant to the Lieutenant Governor K. K. Sharma on Saturday praised these instructors and said the honor given to them is the sanction of the extraordinary work done by them in conferring training to the understudies and furthermore being good examples to the understudy network. He said that these kinds of grants fill in as a confidence sponsor for others too to make progress toward greatness and contribute their best in the field of instruction.
