COVID-19 vaccine: Assam hospital likely to be selected for Phase 2 trials of Covaxin

The Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) is probably going to be chosen as one of the habitats for Phase-II preliminary of 'Covaxin', the nation's first indigenous immunization, Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Friday. Stage II will begin soon, Sarma said at a plasma gift camp composed by the BJP here. 

On June 29, Bharat Biotech had declared that it had effectively evolved 'Covaxin' as a team with Indian 

Gathering of Medical Research (ICMR) and National Institute of Virology (NIV). "They (Bharat Biotech) have begun the procedure to have GMCH as one of the habitats for Phase-II testing of the antibody. 

The Drugs Controller General of India conceded authorization to Bharat Biotech for Phase-I and II human clinical preliminaries after it had submitted results created from pre-clinical investigations, showing security and invulnerable reaction.
