GUWAHATI: The Barak Valley in southern Assam may go under absolute lockdown from August 26 to September 4 as the locale has been seeing flood in COVID-19 cases, Karimganj delegate magistrate (DC) told media people on Saturday.
"We have conversed with the main secretary. He educated us that there is a chance of reporting an absolute lockdown in the whole Barak Valley from August 26 to September 4 if the main pastor favors. It has not been affirmed, however there is a chance," the DC said.
He approached the residents to set themselves up for the lockdown and stock-up the fundamental things.
