BONGAIGAON: Ceremonial distribution of free scooties under Assam Govt.'s 'Pragyan Bharati Free Scooty Scheme' to 293 no.s of girls of the district who have completed Higher Secondary in 2020 securing first division held today in the District Library Auditorium, Bongaigaon.
Hon'ble Minister of Food & Civil Supply etc. to the Govt.of Assam Sri Phani Bhushan Choudhury participated in the ceremonial distribution along with Ananta Kr. Malo and DC Bongaigaon Dr. M. S. Lakshmi Priya and other invitees. There are a total of 293 girls in the district receiving the scooty and today 20 no.s out of those 293 no.s ceremoniously received the scooty. The rest 273 no.s can receive the Scooty later on phasewise from the dealer on furnishing of required documents but appreciation letters were given to all the 293 girls today itself.While speaking on the event Minister Phani Bhushan Choudhury said that the distribution of free scooty to all girls who have passed out HS Exam 2020 securing first division is a medium of giving recognition to their merit based success and at the same time it is an effort to bring equality in the education related facilities available for girls in our society in comparison to the boys.
He gave a call to every guardian to encourage their girls for higher education and provide them with the necessary environment as per their capacity. Further he added that with proper guidance and encouragement many competent IAS officers , doctors, engineers will be emerging out of these girls in near future. DC Bongaigaon Dr. M.S.Lakshmi Priya, IAS during her short speech of encouragement said that the life of a girl or woman is much more challenging and full of various struggles in comparison to man but if one girl determines to do something and she transforms her weaknesses into strength then there is nothing that can stop such a spirit.
The core qualities to achieve our dreams is hard work, dedication and determination she added and encouraging the girls she further mentioned that she is looking forward to work with many young lady IAS officers from the district in the days to come.In today's meeting, ADCs Dr. Sayed Tahidur Rahman and Anupam Deka, Asst. Commissioner Shivansh Awasti, DEEO cum I/C IS, District Coordinator of Pragyan Bharati, Bongaigaon cum Principal Birjhora College Dr. Khanin Sarma, other invitees and all the 293 students, their guardians and other concerned were present in the meeting.
