BONGAIGAON: In synchronisation with the Assam Government's massive door-to-door awareness campaign named, "Jono Jagaron" relating to COVID-19 which has started from today across the entire state, massive COVID-19 awareness campaign has started in Bongaigain district too.
To mark the start of the campaign,
Bongaigaon District Administration organized a COVID-19 awareness rally today at 10.30 A.M. in association with District Health Society, Bongaigaon from DC's Office premises which was flagged off by Dr. M.S Lakshmi Priya, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Bongaigaon. A special cap symbolically representing the COVID-19 virus- an innovative idea brought into reality by DC, Bongaigaon, has also been used in the rally today.
The aim of this awareness drive is to reach out every household, specifically the population which might have been overlooked previously with more emphasis on ramping up for voluntary ‘testing’ and adherence to protocol.The campaign will focus on to ensure each household receives the message on how to deal with the deadly virus COVID- 19 maintaining COVID-19 appropriate behaviour, home isolation protocol etc.which is the utmost need of the hour to beat this ongoing COVID-19 pandemic situation. Apart from District HQ, awareness rallies have been organized at various places across the district such as Chalantapara, Manikpur , Abhayapuri etc.
Assistant Commissioner Shivansh Awasthi, IAS, Dr. Nil Madhab Das, Jt. DHS , Dr. M Badal Sarkar (DSO) , Dr. Islam ( SDM&HO, Bongaigaon BPHC ) , Epidemiologist , DAM , DCM , DDM , BCM ASHAs and other health staffs were among those who were present at the event today.
